Weed, AIDS crisis

This woman is a fucking hero and I had never heard of her before today.

"Mary Jane Rathbun, popularly known as Brownie Mary, was an American medical cannabis activist. As a hospital volunteer at San Francisco General Hospital, she became known for illegally baking and distributing cannabis brownies to AIDS patients."

Like, thousands and thousands of brownies, for a decade.

Home Alone but he's a little kobold trapping his home cave against adventurers

anxiety description, psych meds

Taking a fast-acting benzo to try and counteract anxiety feels like slowly flushing our your veins with slightly-too-salty saline solution instead.

anxiety description

Having an anxiety attack feels like having my blood replaced with the sound of two pieces of sandpaper rubbing together.

Second most useful thing: blown air hand dryers are disgusting.

Most actionably useful thing I learned from watching Mythbusters: to accurately drive a car in reverse, turn your torso all the way around and prop yourself up as close as possible to the centerline of the vehicle.

Works.

Got a chance today to play The Captain is Dead, a cool cooperative board game.

Premise: the captain of your starship is dead and you are under attack. Try to keep systems online, repair your warp drive and gtfo before you explode.

The core mechanics are kinda similar to Pandemic -- role specialization, card-swapping. However the board state is a lot more complex, you need to manage damage control, and threats are more immediate. Triage is super important.

Endorsed.

That thread about dissociation is having the first toot get lots of boosts and I hope people who see it will be able to tell that it's a thread.

...holy blap apparently Stardew Valley was developed entirely by one person. All programming, assets, writing, everything.

This pizza now tastes vaguely of bacon, despite not containing bacon nor tasting like bacon last night.

tfw can't figure out what to cook for dinner and starting to get frustrated and sad, then go to the fridge to check ingredients and suddenly remember that there's leftover pizza.

Okay so I want to get contact lenses so I can wear masks without glasses interfering. I have spherical correction only, no astigmatism. This is gonna be for fairly infrequent wear.

I assume daily disposables are most comfortable? Does anyone have brand preferences? Are more expensive lenses nicer? There's way too many options for me to really know what to order :<

This is a super rough overview. It's okay if any of y'all want to come at me with questions, though keep in mind I'm not an expert.

Anyway, I want to say again that though dissociation is most commonly the result of trauma, that isn't always the cause.

Though, if you dissociate, looking into possible causes (carefully, potentially with the help of a therapist) might not be an awful idea.
