man i kinda want to get back into magic the gathering but it seems really hard considering
- neither of the two (two??? why) official online mtg platforms run on linux or on uh, the switch
- too socially anxious go to an in-person event to play a game i barely remember how to play
- i don't have much money to put into printed cardboard
software suggestion
@codl have you considered something like cockatrice?
i know quite a few people who play mtg using that, and it's oss! it downloads all the cardstocks, and you can make decks out of any of them too
the downside is that it doesn't very explicitly enforce any rules, it's more of a tabletop sim that specifically allows a few variations of magic to be played pretty easily
(cw'd because software suggestions can be super-obnoxious, and sorry in advance)
re software suggestion
@codl yeaaah, that's part of why i figured i'd mention the caveats
i don't really have any other ideas that aren't extremely annoying to set up, but i figured that if this did do what you were hoping, that i could save you some headache
