i mostly just wanted to point out the immediate tangible benefits it would have for some people who actually exist, even if there are a few funky bits about its vibe and prerequisite privilege~
removing barriers for the marginalized to escape oppression will always be a good thing

though i know specific people who were actually very recently looking to see if this was even an option for them because of how things are going in the places around them
tl;dr - the process was...not great, and the petition would be granting that option to people like that outside of literally making your case in front of a court of people who may or may not be transphobic

I encourage any of my fellow Canadians on the Fediverse to sign this petition. Including, and especially if you currently live in the States. We have a relatively easy option if the US goes sideways, many of our siblings do not.

...though it's also possible there are people who use regex filters to watch for certain topics on federated posts ^^'

i still like the simple sound of just piano! it has kind of a charming quality in its simplicity, i feel ^^

if i talk about a thing that i feel like someone else isn't into, i feel really self-conscious that i'm taking up their time
i think this is because it's very hard for me to focus on things that don't interest me, which makes it take a lot of effort to try and stay engaged with someone who clearly really likes a thing, because i don't want to trample on their enthusiasm
but i also don't want to put others into that sitch
