backgrounds are hard

after trying to get used to clip studio paint, i have to say, oh gosh how i miss sai's vectoring

you can tweak it and clean it up so easily, and you never actually have to erase lines, so if you want to tweak it again, you can just remove some of the mask from your best lines instead of having to redraw them

i'm drawing this because i'm thinking of streaming beat saber soon, and i think it would be cool to have art for that!

i really gotta get better at more dynamic poses

it was a pretty substantial part of working up the ability to kinda do this anywhere, and i still don't fully feel comfortable with it--but i'm gonna just do that everywhere now!

on top of that, i now actually have a little more about who i am in my bio--and i'm using my resolution for this year to smash through the rest of my doubt with momentum and the good vibes i can conjure up with it

i think now's probably an okay time to stop treating this place as an insular thing, completely isolated from myself online

one of the reasons i came to masto was actually to test what it would be like if i posted with no particular expectations or previous obligation--even if if those obligations were just manifestations of my own anxiety

oof, that took *forever* without vectors

i used azpainter for this, and i had to do all kinds of silly things to get similar results to my sai workflow

i did eventually figure out masking though (it only applies to things you draw after setting the mask)

turns out, i extremely don't know how to mask things in azpainter

i mean, oshawott's ears are waaay to high for decent looking headphones, and their arms are also too short to hold things up high

i have no idea how to draw this, hahah
