tablets are such a high baseline, honestly
even super-old ones can be extraordinarily useful, and it always feels nice being able to reuse things like this in such meaningful ways ^^
oh! it's really nice to use too! it reacts to me locking and unlocking my computer by doing the same, and can be controlled with my computer's keyboard and mouse by moving it off the far left of my screen
i used to just like...casually sit in tilde.town's irc! i still have my usenet, gopher, and gemini stuff still all set up too
i did need to grab a new termux before the one i was using would implode though, but that was an easy move
it usually is pretty light on battery, but when i plug it into my computer, it:
box 64 is just kind of the coolest thing
like, in a fake linux in a fake chroot on a highly restricted ARM environment, it still somehow manages to run x86_64 binaries in a way that tricks them into thinking that the house of cards below it is a good enough environment to just...somehow work!
every level of it is already sorcery, but i can't even believe that what box64 does is even possible on top of all of that
huh, dwarf fortress doesn't actually seem to be as intimidating as i thought it was going to be
i mean, it's still a lot, but i think stellaris might have made it a lot easier for me than the last time i tried..!
also, the whole "press space to pause while you figure out what you want to do" feels pretty at home
literally everything out of frame here is an absolute disaster since i'm still setting things up, but this corner feels pretty cozy already
this is using a cpu emulator, of course, but its cpu usage really isn't too bad for being actual dwarf fortress in box64 inside a proot
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
