fun motivation fact: if you mentally prepare to phone 5 places, you can, in fact, get 5 answering machines and need something entirely too elaborate to dump all of those ideas
spent all day making a giant interconnected mind map in org roam so that i'll be entirely too prepared to talk to a therapist

I have a coworker at Unity who's been wiping the floor with all of us with his compact, efficient #adventofcode solutions. What makes it especially galling is that he's doing it all on a 16 MHz 386SX, using Borland Turbo C++ 3.0. Even his write-up looks like a Wayback Machine snapshot of an early-90s Geocities homepage: http://clb.confined.space/aoc2022/

the last two advent of code years can basically be summed up as me using this specific thing in clojure in about a hundred different ways
so the fact it exists in elisp is actually a big deal for me!
oh dang! til emacs 28 introduced named-let!
that means you can now write recursive things in elisp in an optimized way like you can in scheme!
i really like clojure (and fennel!), and this was a good excuse to compare how i would approach things with friends!
if you git clone and look at the log with signatures, your can see pretty much all of these were done from my phone too..!
also, also! since it's the 25th, here's how far i got into advent of code this year!
(only 14 days, but i'm pretty happy with how those days turned out~)

welp, i lost a looot of time to not carefully reading the directions
pathfinding is easy enough! but i didn't realize something with a drop more than 1 was a valid move, so the hill was completely unapproachable until i realized
part 2 took like, 10 minutes after i got 1 though!
