but this year, it seems like there's like, actual?? things??? being released????

Windows on Hercules looks snazzy. Almost like original Macintosh.

Okay, you all seem energized, so here we go! This time, with feeling!!

apparently calgary also did the snowplow naming thing, and most of them are bad puns because of course

you can even track their movements and names on a live map

What was i supposed to do? Not cuddle this soft plushie?

Hiya, new social media scares me, anyway here's an #introduction post!

I'm a trans little who dabbles in a bit of everything, primarily focusing on #RPGMaker 2003 stuff because that's what I grew up with and have a nostalgic attachment to.

Right now I'm working on a game that's primarily about a group of queer kids solving mysteries in the suburbs and collecting magic rocks. :3

Which browser do you use?

i think these results are kind of interesting, because the things that are important to me are actually super-duper high

but the "integrity" one is weird to me, because i do try really hard to be honest--and even if i have to dance around a lot to communicate things to people that might be hard for them to hear, i take pains to make sure that i'm not misrepresenting those things

(maybe it's because i responded in a way where i don't feel people lying to me is necessarily always a bad thing?)

anyway, the entire code for this is here if you're curious what that looks like in practice! (or if you want to modify it to do your own thing~)

tl;dr if you are unfamiliar, but you can basically css style parts of the browser that aren't modifiable with extensions or themes!

it's locked behind an about:config option though (toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets)

i think it's like that because they don't really guarantee that the things you css aren't going to change between updates, though i feel like styling body in certain urls is pretty safe

Over many years, I have been gradually replacing all of the paragraphs in the Ship of Theseus Wikipedia article.

StreetPass is a cool new browser extension that uses Mastodon's verification system in a clever way.

Mastodon users verify themselves by adding a custom link to their personal site. StreetPass lets you know when you've found one of these links, and adds them to your list. As you browse the web, StreetPass will build a list of Mastodon users that belong to the websites you visit.

I spoke with the creater @tvler about the project, 🧵 below.

Visit streetpass.social/ to try it yourself!

What's that? We, at the @spritelyinst, are launching a Guile->WebAssembly project? spritely.institute/news/guile-

YOU READ THAT RIGHT! First-class Scheme in the browser by compiling Guile programs *directly* to WebAssembly!!

No emscripten compilation of a bloated underlying runtime, nah.... we're compiling scheme programs DIRECTLY to browser-ready Webassembly!

This is gonna be HUGE!!!! (And, of course, it means a bold path for Spritely in the browser!)

Oh and did I mention... that we're hiring? Because if compilers are your thing, maybe you should come work for us! spritely.institute/jobs/compil
