introducing my new unicode encoding, UTF--1 (negative 1, not to be confused with UTF-1). characters are sequences of 1 bits with length equal to the character's codepoint, delimited by single 0 bits

pros: easy to explain, unlimited range of codepoints
cons: oh man where do i even start
