the thing i have learned is that anything good that happens to me, any connection or closeness, is ephemeral and temporary. it can and will go away without warning, no matter what anyone says to the contrary. so i must cherish it while i have it, and keep my grief to a minimum when it leaves, because i should have known it would happen. it always does. the only constant is me, and i should not bank on anything staying with me.

does anyone even read these or am i just crying into the void here too

my heart is aching for a hundred different reasons and im running out of effective distractions

i dont know anyone here in boston except my roommate who will be moving away by september

and for various reasons moving to a place where i do know people is hard or impossible to arrange

online friendships are no substitute for in person connections

i have plenty of the former but none of the latter and im bad at them both

i dont know how to make friends anymore

and i worry my loneliness is slowly killing me

can't sleep

i have this destiny 2 raid jacket. sometimes when i go out in it i wonder if anyone who doesn't know what it is misinterprets the little skull on the sleeve as a fascist symbol or something, especially given my general look - aggrieved-entitlement-lookin'-ass lanky white masc-presenting creature with glasses and resting surly face. am i worrying too much

though i do think it's very funny that the events of re2 apparently happen in part because leon is late for his first day on the job. very professional

apparently leon is a rookie cop in re2 so you could chalk it up to inexperience, but surely he would have gotten a dressing down about it sometime between then and 4

thinking about it, the least realistic part of the resident evil games starring police is the idea that an american cop would *fight* an evil corporation that's explicitly ruining the lives of civilians in an obvious way, rather than protecting them and helping them cover it up

i know that tech companies having a neutral stance on unionization is strictly a good thing, but i think it would be funny if a tech company was explicitly pro-union

"hey, you guys should consider unionizing"

"form a fucking union or we'll start a round of layoffs"
