Did you ever want to play Mega Man on DOS but couldn't because it runs insanely fast? Well, I fixed that.

Proof of concept fixed-framerate Mega Man (DOS) patch seems to be working well! I need to do some cleanup work, but this definitely seems viable! Mega Man (DOS) without having to guess/aquire some very particular speed of computer. (MM3 should be coming as well.)

I wanted to play Mega Man 3 (DOS) on a not-ancient-enough computer. Noticed it does have a 70Hz framerate cap, but was made for computers that couldn't get anywhere near that framerate.

As a first step, I removed the frame cap, so now speed scales infinitely with CPU power...

hey girl, are you an egg that's been soaked in vinegar for a day, because you look bigger than before

I think this era purposefully creates a "real adult life" that's meant to stay this empty shell, so you'll always be looking to fill it with stuff they're selling.

I'm beginning to think even the concept of "an adult", as a discrete unit of humanity, is a lie. There's just us, more mature as we go. The rest is ads.

you ever see a pretty lady and all you wanna do is give her a battleaxe

easy way to reduce your ableism

Instead of saying "you know what X is, right?"

Try "do you know what X is?"

This avoids implying the person "should" know about something

the lil library at PHL has a short story dispenser. You push a button and it prints out a long strip of (sustainably sourced) paper with a short story of your requested length on it. It's one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

Being told "I love you" from someone nice is a gift, and I hate that so much of our culture treats it as something that implies or creates obligation.

it's sad when people are afraid to say "I love you" to people they're close to because they're worried it won't be okay.

This is your occasional reminder that until 1993 the existence of Post Office Tower in London was an official state secret

Despite it being 177 metres tall, in central London, and having both a revolving restaurant and a gift shop

is capitalism a sandwich? because workers are posed between bread (literal bread, which they must buy to stay alive) and bread (metaphorical bread, the money held above their heads by the upper classes)
