it's called draw distance

Current status: still getting hecked up by the animal designs in The Ancient Magus Bride awoo.space/media/wK91EAU3fxfil

@dzuk@a.weirder.earth i hella love yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss

Not only is it numerically sortable properly, but it's also "string" sortable IE the alphanumeric expansion of order per-character of the string that is produced is in the same order as the date order!

Thoughts on social media and caring

Social media encourages us to be more performative about our thoughts and activities, including the things we care about. A down side of that is that if someone isn't performative about something, it can seem like they're not doing it or don't care about it.

Remember: people can care about things without it being a public performance, and calling someone out for not making a public performance of their very real care does very real harm.

ableism, specific slur references, administration

Unlearning ableist language is important. It's a structural problem that we've embdedded in our every day lives.

"Stupid", "Crazy", "Dumb", "Idiot", "Insane" and more are all ableism terms you should DEFINITELY not be posting on the PTL, nor at all calling other people

If you think asking you to not post this is me calling you ableist, get out, because you clearly don't care about being harmful.

ableism

Fun fact: If I tell you you've used an ableist term and to not use it again in the future, I'm not calling you ableist

Get over yourself.

inquiry of health of someone

seeing TDOR posts now and, well, it made me remember nobody's heard from her so it's starting to become A Big Deal it feels like

inquiry of health of someone

I don't know her but I've been concerned seeing other people talk about her. Has anyone heard from Mizui? (I think that was her name?)

It's kind of a bummer that the narrative is going to be "Mastodon went down, back to twitter!".

One server went down. A large server, yes, but there's tens of thousands of us still here.

The network is still here, and active.

so, i run selfcare.tech but rarely talk about why.

it was on the tail of a med incident. a blood vessel burst in my retina & i had a blind spot in one eye that took over a month of recovery (after a panicked trip to the ER).

it burst because of the *stress* i was under, partly from some life stuff, but mostly because of my work situation.

after that, i started gathering resources & sharing them with others. eventually, i made the website so i could share easily & it went from there. #selfcare

Tfw you're comfy with your barista and correct them when they say "the misses"
