Weee... today I made a thing... a plan... a design for new upcoming architecture for the project we are building in Azure on Kubernetes... complete with some pretty diagrams.
I'm rather proud of it... but I'm super fucking nervous about presenting it to the dev team for this service in the morning..
On the upside my boss seems to be very happy with it and really liked the pair of charts I made for it.
@oannablue I've been thinking about picking that up. Will do now.
I just recently finished "This is How You Lose The Time War" which was amazing and is joint effort between the author of "Empress of Forever" and another author.
@mawr It is beautifully told and wonderful story... and I don't think I could do justice to it by summarizing.
The story is told from the perspective of letters exchanged by two agents of diametrically opposed futures fighting across thousands of time lines and course of all human history.
Over the course of their rivalry they slowly start to fall in love with each other despite never meeting, only walking through echos of course of events they've taken to thwart each other.
HEY HEY GO READ "THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR!"
@mawr YOU NEED TO CONSUME THIS MEDIA! GET IT IN YOUR BRAIN! I PROMISE YOU WILL LOVE IT!
In case you missed it: the Twine game "You Are Jeff Bezos". You wake up one day as Jeff, and try to give away all of his money.

re: Art site rant.
@kelseyhusky That would be nice..
@IrisKalmia That sounds... entirely too likely given your area.
@IrisKalmia Is that cold or hot?
@IrisKalmia Every Duc I've owned had a kickstand cut off switch. If the kickstand was down and the bike was not in Neutral, no bang.
Lots of people disable them for reasons (aka on really bumpy roads they can be... finkcy)
re: I hate corporations (bitching about my job [2/2])
@mawr Fucking yikes...
That sounds nightmarish and I'm really glad I've moved over to the public cloud sector >.>;;;
re: Destiny 2, monstrous features
@Oneironott Definitely a lot of good stuff this time around! I'm actually pretty excited for Shadowkeep.
re: Destiny 2, monstrous features
@Oneironott Aside from the shoot the eyes mechanic for Riven... Lash Wish is a great experience. Reminded me of doing Vault of Glass for the first time in a lot of positive ways.
re: Destiny 2, monstrous features
@Oneironott I really liked Last Wish.. I still need to get around to doing Crown of Sorrow and Scourge of the Past..
Not a huge fan of most of the Leviathan content though.
re: Destiny 2, monstrous features
@Oneironott Riven is great... too bad enemies are often super stingy with the Riven snacks..
"Are there any monsters under my bed?" she asked.
"No monsters/None," came the replies.
"Then what are you?"
"Eaters/We eat."
"Eat what?"
"Toes/Feet/Anything sticking out"
"I still have all my toes."
"Well/We wouldn't/Not monsters."
"So what do you eat?"
"... socks."

Ugh... today dragons failed at teching... a lot.. I'mma go back working my AKS terraform PoC...
because I went to install a new edgerouter-X and had a bunch of issues.. none of my laptops have ethernet ports and I couldn't find my usb to ethernet adapter... so I decided to use the media PC...
Which is when I discovered our aging Onkyo receiver (RC160) has finally fallen victim to HDMI control board overheat death problem that apparently plagued them... after a decade of service..
@kelseyhusky It was inevitable, dragons are after all the perfect form!
Shape and form may vary but the pattern of information remains consistent across most known platforms and vessels. Accounting for unknown hosts remains irksome.
