So he goes on to try talking me into leasing a new outback but drops the mention that most of the leases they are taking in are coming back with hugely negative equity, including his own outback.

So why the fuck would I sign up for a lease for a vehicle that you just admitted might end in me owing more than the value of the vehicle at the end of the lease?

Which is shit, because I already had the buy out price + evaluation for financing a lease buy out

(I owe 22k, evaluation after condition and low mileage came in at 27k)

I know the trade in values are different but fuck dude.. 400 bucks? Really? I could finance it at 3.6% APR and then buy it.. turn around and sell it on the open market and easily net 10x that.

Get back.. it has been an hour, go to check and see if my Forester is close to done, service department is like oh.. 30 more minutes! so I don't go to lunch.

Sales dude is like.. why don't I get you a quote on the Outback and trade in value on the Forester..

I agree.. because it gets him to leave me alone for a bit.

He comes back with his manager (is the person that sold me my Forester 3 years ago)

Literally Subaru killed the Forester XT (2.0 turbo) in 2018. I love mine. My only wish is for Android Auto which was never added.

After 30 minutes of talking with this dude I finally agree to placate him by taking an Outback Onyx XT for a test drive. (Really nice car by the way, but way more car than I desire. Just too big. Even if it is super roomy with lots of cargo space. Its a foot longer than my forester and 6-7inches wider)

I was far too exhausted yesterday to grump about this.

So yesterday the Wobblura went in for final inspection and service before my lease ends (I'm keeping it though)

Scheduled everything ahead of time. EToC of 1.5 hours. Sure I'll just walk over to the thai place across the street and get some lunch..

Get there, drop off.. (note I'm sick and I had 3 hours of sleep because of said sick)

Immediately ambushed by sales person that knows my lease is up.

Oops.... so I've never made a turkey before, I usually leave that to other folks and cook something more familiar like tri-tip or ribeye. Since we weren't having any one over I roasted a small burd for us.
It is so tender and juicy I can't carve it, it just falls off the bones.

I couldn't get the drumsticks out of my electric roast whole even with tongs...

It is super tasty.

Instead.. I am making the dinner for the kobolds. Which I suppose is fair... I'm thankful for my kobolds.

My everything hurts....

I wish I had some kobolds to help with this whole thanksgiving dinner thing.

Welp...got in a shouting match with my partner.. seems like it is definitely a holiday now.

@kistaro Addendum, all dragons should occasionally remind people they are in fact dragons. Especially the cute and friendly ones.

Somehow I forgot to mention FULL FATHOM FIVE.. which is probably my favorite book in the Craft Sequence

For a lot of reasons but also because somehow the author managed to write one of the best transgender characters I've ever seen... while making the fact she is trans both anecdotal in the since it is only mentioned once... but her shear determination to be the person she believes herself to be ties up the story and is pivotal to her success... and it is really cool.

Publishing order and order I read them was 3, 2,1,4,5 but they are fantastic

If you are ever looking for some good fantasy to read. I strongly recommend "The Craft Sequence" by Max Gladstone...

Despite being published out of order (I didn't know that at first.. was sort like.. wait this book takes place way before that one while reading them) it flows extremely well both in order (Titles have a number indicating order up until the last one.. as a pun. aka The Last First Snow, Two Serpents Rise, Three Past Dead, Four Roads Cross then last The Ruin of Angels
