Then again my household can't afford to buy a house anywhere we could safely live and work with two six figure incomes D:

Price increases are crazy bad here on food stuffs. Average cost of my household grocery orders which account for cooking 4-5 meals for 4 people with leftovers to cover at least 1 meal the following day each are up 40% in the last six months.

Any semblance of sanity if you try to eat out here even like... fast casual or formerly cheap things like.. Lee's are.. basically $10-15 USD for a meal.

Thankfully working from home makes cooking more viable but I'm literally cooking like my parents did when we were broke as a child. Buy meat only when it is on sale, cook large pot meals (jambalaya, creole, soups, curry) with lots of rice or tri tip when it is on sale and shred it for sandwiches over the next couple of days.

Didn't get a lot of sleep this week... on pto today and tomorrow so... yesss can sleep in. Alarm set for 11:30am. Went to bed at 3ish am. Natural dragon sleepy cycle time.

Phone call from my mom at 10:30am. Just talked to her yesterday.. so must be emergency or something bad. It was.. not great news, cousin I had a lot chat with recently because of queer stuff and coming out to his parents going -badly- is in the ICU and having a heart balloon installed. sigh.

@Draekos DOOM Eternal embraced the crazy arena fight stuff to an extreme but did it much better. It is a dramatically more fluid and better game in my opinion. Even if it is incredibly intense and I could only play it a few hours at a time and even then it basically drained every drop of focus and mental energy I had.

Which was a shame because it was really fucking fun.

Brain: I know we stayed up like.. 2 hours later than weekend normal.. but.. we can still sleep.. like 7 hours and not feel crappy tomorrow.. even if going to bed at 5 am was bad.
Body: "Nah bitch. We waking up at 9am.. and then... every hour after and growing progressively more achy and uncomfortable until you get the fuck up. Enjoy being exhausted on one of the two days a week you don't have to get up for anything.. bitch."

And yeah.. might not be newsworthy but definitely a massive covid wave right now. I woke up this morning with an ear infection and called kaiser to see about a phone appointment or something.

Soonest for a phone call was Friday. Even during the worst of last year1 I could get a phone visit in 24 hours. Later my dr called to tell me they were just refilling the drops from last time and it sounded bat shit crazy busy in the background.

In this case it's transfolk C# dev in Russia.. but without a degree, they've worked remote for the passed few years but things got much worse and they were let go because of current world events and are desperately trying to get out.
