@Phorm I'm a bit sad nobody voted for Jonah-era, 'cause they really ain't bad at all, and they were just hitting their stride when #$@%!#$!# Netflix canceled 'em, but yeah, I started in '90 with Joel and I've still got a soft spot for his sleepy-eyed-uncle charm. Mike is perfectly good too, though, and I do love Pearl. There's really no specific era I hate--though TBH I don't think anyone handled host segments as well as Joel. Some of the Pearl-era segments have great riff and great characterization but the jokes are just FLAT. ("Send... Mike... Down!")

@zebratron2084 @Phorm General agreement, though I have to confess that the Time Shenanigan host segments in the Pearl-era Prince of Space are probably my favorite ones ever, and Find The Lady from Hamlet is on my honorable mention list perpetually. There was just perhaps a bit more dross between the bits of gold.
re: mst3k; length cw
The Mike-era host segment where the bots react to the Gumby short has to be one of the top ten for me.
That, and, as corny as it is: The attempt to lure Mike into saying "Lost in Space".
...
Hell, maybe I'm just broke in the head. I even liked Turkey Volume Guessing Man.
re: mst3k; length cw
@Phorm @zebratron2084 I.... I still measure volume in units of turkeys.
re: mst3k; length cw
We'd all be measuring volume in units of Turkeys... If it weren't for that elusive Robert Denby!!

I really like Jonah, but the gauntlet season was just a mess for movie choices.

@zebratron2084
I did quite like Jonah, honestly. He sold me from the moment he did the Kaiju rap. There's just something about the episodes he was a part of that didn't quite gel with me for some reason? Like, there was never an episode that hit me with consecutive unexpected and hilarious gags, like Clonus, or Final Sacrifice.
The Pearl-era segments were pretty corny and often times fell flat. I will admit that.
Though, counterpoint:
