OK, seriously, is anybody still actively concerned about right-wingers dying from COVID denialism? Is anybody still not actively cheering for it?
I am at the point where I can literally no longer mentally model how I could care about these people nor how anyone else could. I can't even model whether that's right or wrong anymore.

It is the public-health issues that are the problem; they're making a home for the Eta Variant that's going to wreck 2022.

... and I don't particularly like what that says about me and my empathy sliding downward, but I have long reached my tolerance limits.

I still hold out the belief that a lot of right leaning people are just like I was, really *really* indoctrinated, and maybe we’d have okay neighbors if they could somehow break out from it. Every right winger who goes from Covid or by taking whichever specious cure of the month *is* one less person cheering to dismantle the planet by turning our country into one big Alabama, but this isn’t the ideal way to get there.

@zebratron2084 OK, yeah, given that qualifier, I've been feeling like at the end of the Star Trek reboot, Kirk telling the beaten Nero (who's killed Kirk's father, the whole planet Vulcan, and just tried to kill all Earth) to let the Enterprise beam his crew aboard, and Nero refusing and insisting the fight's not over *yet*.
Admire NuKirk for trying one more time but totally get him leaving Nero to the Red Hole after that.

Yes, folks, I GET that the spread among the MAGAoids is still a threat. I should have specified ASIDE from that. There's still a pretty meaningful distinction, I think, between "I still care for you and want to save you" and "I want you to be well so your filthy diseased deluded ass doesn't get us all killed."
