Huh. TIL that apparently a "Drogerie" (drug store) is not the same as an "Apotheke" (pharmacy) in Germany, and a Drogerie does not actually sell any drugs or medications. Just, like, toiletries and stuff.
re: day jeorb, language, trivia
@001zlnv I took a year of German in high school too! *hoch fünf*
re: day jeorb, language, trivia
tell me, was your reasoning "french has silent letters and it's spelling scares me, and spanish has no seats available" too?
re: day jeorb, language, trivia
@001zlnv Nope, more like "Spanish teacher is a wizened old nutcase and French teacher spends most of class hitting on the football team which makes me uncomfortable, and if I take German at the local community college I can get the fuck away from my dumbass peers for another hour a day." :O
I mean... cripes, how long have you known me?
I LOVE silent letters. ;|
re: day jeorb, language, trivia
@001zlnv And French orthography doesn't scare me.
*grabs you by the shoulders, looking wild-eyed, sweat rolling down her forehead even though tigers don't even sweat*
Because I've seen Gaelic. 🙀

re: day jeorb, language, trivia
I wish I'd taken French... taking Latin was not a wise choice...
