The important thing to remember about Bladerunner is that Roy is the closest you get to heroic (and he really isn’t y’know). Deckard is a particularly vicious piece of work and he’s definitely not the hero of the piece. See also “Bladerunner 2049 was a giant disappointment.”

@Leucrotta I'd make a devil's advocate argument that Deckard is a perfect *noir* hero -- compromised, manipulated, and powerless over anybody's real fate. But being a noir hero is pretty much tantamount to "not really a hero" so it would just be quibbling. You're basically right. :)
