The whole thread about the child exploitation aspect of the whole production really unnerved me... because years ago I watched a Tomorrow People DVD by the same producer, Roger Price... and Rik, Peg, and I were making jokes all the way through about how much he liked putting young boys in their skivvies. We honestly thought we were just being snarky about an old Brit's naivete. It's not nearly as funny after watching this documentary. -__-

Then I remembered he was the same stubborn dipshit who wouldn't TELL US that he was peeing blood during a vacation until we were halfway back home...

Okay, dancing to the entire Funkentelechy vs The Placebo Syndrome album, then petting Peggy for 20 minutes, was SUPER life-affirming.

So is thinking of how many of my political enemies didn't get petted today, haven't gotten petted before, and never will get properly petted. :D

Why do I bother engaging at all? I dunno. Maybe it's a way to keep my inner Devil's Advocate quiet.

I do think it helps a bit, though. I never get a good debate from them, but I do often have the pleasure of shutting them up.

I guess I do it for the peanut gallery. People do fall for blatant lies, if there's nobody to challenge them, especially if they're backed up with bully tactics.

In the unlikely event anyone was curious: I heard back from one of the Trumpies who bailed on a debate.

She sent me a private message in which she made an excuse for never following up with her promised "list" of evidence, called me a "typical leftist" who's "obsessed" with her, called me a "loser," reminded me "Trump is still my president," and then "owned" me with a SINGLE link that ignored every single one of the criteria I had already laid out for acceptable evidence.

I've said it over and over again. These people are just like the people we fought in the Troll Wars. They use the same shoot-and-scoot tactics, they have the same disinterest in real discussion, and they have the same *complete lack* of community-building skills and espirit d'corps.

I am still not convinced they have a bright future relative to us. At best, they can hinder us with these tactics. To actually STOP us, they must build something sustainable. They can not.

This is literally the fifth fucking time this week that I have laid out an extensive, sourced, annotated debunking of a right-winger's argument on Reddit, only to have em totally disappear from the thread the moment they were challenged.

On one hand, fuck me for trying, right? On the other, it's certainly not increasing my inclination to be scared of these people. If they'll retreat this fast from a polite-as-they-had-coming debunking, what the hell will they do in a war?!
