I don' think Majora's Mask is fun.

@Fuego I never played it. I got 45 minutes into Ocarina and gave up on the mutant controller. Then I got 45 minutes into Mario64, gave up on the console, and went back to my PSX.

@literorrery I finished Ocarina and Mario64 but uggh yeah that system is my least favorite system until the Wii.

@Fuego @literorrery Awww. I have a special place in my heart for the N64 because of games like F-ZERO X, Mario Kart 64, Mischief Makers, Super Smash Bros., Tetrisphere, and Starfox 64.

Sure, most visuals were a hot mess of blurry textures on low-poly models, the controller ergonomics were dubious at best, and the sum total of the sound hardware was a variable-rate DAC and a 256K ROM of compressed MIDI patches (all sound was software-mixed!), but... it still had some great titles.

@ElectricKeet @literorrery I just loved the SNES so much and the N64 was COMPLETELY unequipped to make the sorts of games I loved so much - they like left that for sony

confession

@Fuego @literorrery Ah, fair enough! And it's not like the N64 couldn't have had stupendous RPGs and such, but... well, plain economics stepped in. When publishers looked at the costs of expensive cartridges for the new hotness and realised they could charge just as much for a game that had a twentieth the physical production costs even after splattering it across multiple discs of FMV, the decision practically made itself, so the PSX swept the field.

Not that I was bitter. *shrug*
