what happened to horizontal format desktop computers anyway
-F
@IceWolf i just feel like it's a better format... keeps the computer off the ground, meaning less dust, and it means the PCIe cards are mounted vertically, which is good for heavy cards like GPUs
-F
@Felthry prebuilt office computers still come in horizontal, afaik
@Felthry but like, screens aren't super deep anymore so they'll take up extra space that the screen alone wouldn't
honestly they're kind of terrible if memory serves
@nautilee really? i would have thought they'd be better for keeping dust out since they're not on the floor
-F
@nautilee and mounting a GPU vertically feels a lot less precarious. could be problems we'r enot aware of though
-F
most of the horizontal cases are the kind of thing designed to sit on top of a desk, which means they're really, really small and cramped. Not particularly good airflow and harder to build/repair
@Felthry I mean, there are "mini" ones that are horizontal...
but no big ones I can think of.
