what are those buttons called that are all in a set and pushing one button makes the other ones pop out
-F
@g would be nice if that was remotely possible to search
do they even make those anymore?
-F
@Felthry i don't know, sorry, but i would guess they probably do?
Wrong answer
@Felthry Whack-a-mole
@Felthry radio buttons
@noiob that's what i thought but searching for that only turns up the computer usage of them
we're working on a thing at work that could probably benefit from some of those and i don't know how to find them, or if they even still make them
-F
@Felthry seems like they were only really made for radios, so they probably stopped being made as soon as those switched to push buttons
@Felthry they're just another mechanical part that got replaced with software
@noiob we've seen them on a bunch of old test equipment and never on a radio, but *shrug*
-F
@Felthry they definitely were on a ton of radios
ha, maybe that's the easiest way to get one, find some old broken radio you can harvest them from
@noiob yeah we've never seen a radio with them but we haven't exacctly seen a ton of old radios, don't doubt they exist
the one old radio we have has all knobs instead

@Felthry here's some great examples https://www.jitbit.com/alexblog/242-the-history-of-a-radio-button/
@Felthry according to a rando on the internet last July, the search term might be "interlock pushbutton switch" https://modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=251424
(possibly "interlock push button switch", idk)
