Sometimes I think, if you knew some thoughts I reconsider and don’t express, you’d unfollow/block/never deal with me in person.
@Leucrotta I’m a dragon with a dragon-sized superiority complex to match. I mostly keep it to myself, and apparently it doesn’t leak enough to be offputting to people who I think would have every right to be put off if they knew about it.
Don’t sweat it, is all I’m saying. I think it’s pretty dang normal, and only the fact that most reasonably healthy people can mostly keep it to themselves leave people believing that they are alone in having unkind thoughts that they choose not to express.
@Leucrotta Your brain is an idea generator. Your conscious judgment is required to identify which ideas are bad. That means your brain will present an awful lot of bad ideas to your conscious judgment; your integrity and intelligence are *why* those bad ideas don’t make it past that step. You still take some of their emotional burden, though.
@kistaro @Leucrotta This, precisely. Everyone gets plenty of horrible ideas on any given day, that's just kind of what brains do (and also, why everyone would hate each other if we were all psychic). What matters isn't the fact you -get- bad ideas, it's whether or not you choose to act on them.
@Leucrotta Unlikely. I mean, I'm no stranger to ugly thoughts, and I know how hard you work to keep from letting those translate into actions. Just... label clearly in your CW (I dunno, "ugly thoughts I don't endorse or even want" or the like) and gracefully refuse to engage with anyone who seems not to understand that.
Well, I say that, but it's not like I do this. Then again, I barely ever post! Maybe I should do a little of this myself....
