LB: This combines with my @reply thoughts about cultural appropriation in some complex way that I can't quite parse right now. Good good thread.
@Fuego But Loki is so dreamy~~~~~
@indi *twitching* loki is your compulsively abusive relative no one has the guts to kick out of thanksgiving
@Fuego I think there's a legitimate line of thought involved with focusng on the more modern Loki-types as distinct entities, but at that point I find myself worrying a bit even there about Asshole Loki getting a hold in folks via... legacy code, for lack of a better word.
@indi he's a complicated motherfucker, but he's very abusive and self destructive.
He's like oxycodone. Yeah its useful and necessary at times. Don't get comfortable with it though.
@indi I have some Thoughts on this based on personal experience, but I'm really tired so I'm not going into it now, but if you're interested let me know and I'll come back to it later. it's something I've thought about a lot, specifically in the context of the thing I call "my head-Loki."
@Oneironott @indi are you super into hard vore?
@Oneironott @indi suddenly this got super 'the prestige'
@Fuego @indi @Oneironott "You never know when you go in whether you'll be the one that appears on top or the one underneath."
@Oneironott @Fuego There ARE a number of less... apocalyptic... lupines in Norse mythology, FWIW. ;)
@indi I feel like I'll worry about religious appropriation when I can google search my religion's primary gods and the first 500 results aren't people's fucked up fetishization of comic book characters.
