@argr I really loved that one. I think I watched it 5 times in a short period after seeing it the first time, when it was on a cable movie station when I was young.

I recently realized I only ever watched the dub, though, so I've been thinking of looking for a sub version.

Follow

@relee @argr there are some differences in the dub that the distributor unfortunately wouldn't budge on, like mentions of the forgeworkers being former sex workers being basically removed from the film. It's nowhere near as bad as Disney wanted, though

@kyra @argr Was that removed? I was sure that was said straight out? Maybe it was just so obvious that's what they meant by buying all the girls contracts, that they didn't have to say what they were contracts for?

Geez, now I have to re-watch it in both the dub and sub. Maybe there's more than one dub?

@relee @argr that might be it. I just remember Disney trying really hard to ruin those films. It may be that more accurate versions were recorded at the time and released later

@kyra @argr I'm pretty sure the version I saw was the one that had been in theaters, with the dub script by Neil Gaiman, but I'm not sure.

Also, I'm in Canada so there could have been a regional edit. There have been things in the past with different censorship in the U.S. than other english-speaking places.

Hmm... I did a web search and found this: polygon.com/animation-cartoons
