Work Venting
Today is also a shit show for various reasons related to the old parent company's IT department not communicating with the new one, but that's not what I want to bitch about right now.
My partner may be dropped from my health insurance policy because my workplace hired a 3rd party auditor to verify dependents, and they require BOTH a marriage license and proof of co-ownership of property to verify a dependent spouse.
Company policy counts domestic partnerships. I'm extremely angry.

@mawr ...wait so literally only property owners get to have healthcare for their family? D:
Work Venting
@starkatt Yuup. Either that or we have to have filed taxes jointly (we haven't because it hasn't been financially beneficial for us to do so).
Like I think cars count as property, but that's not something we've done either, because it makes for a hassle at the DMV

@literorrery @starkatt I've already called HR, and from their measured response over the phone I got the impression that they recognized this as a problem that needs fixing.
We'll see if that actually happens or not, though.

@mawr @literorrery good luck 💜

@starkatt Thank you. <3

@starkatt Ahhh, found the description of things they consider valid joint ownership:
• Mortgage Statements
• Bank Statements (we could actually do this, but also fuck being forced to give them my financial info)
• Credit Card Statements (maybe but still fuck being forced to give them my financial info)
• rental/lease agreements (we do not have a written lease for our current living arrangement)
But yeah, fuck every single thing about this.
@mawr UUUGGGGGHHH. what a fucking ;iweq;vieqrogijqe;roigj;werjg
I wish you all the luck, and hope it works out soon in your favor. :|
@mawr Eep! Good luck! D:
It's now time to see if the "Diversity & Inclusion Council" at my company is just a façade or not.
