hey ND critters, what's your strategy for when you're hungry but you don't Feel Like eating anything

Weed (not serious; sorry, we don't have a genuine solution):

@typhlosion Weed anyway.

slightly dark humor re: Weed (not serious; sorry, we don't have a genuine solution):

@pillowcat welcome to our hit new gameshow, Weed! Or! Starve! (audience applause)

potentially disordered eating //

@typhlosion crackers*, water, or taking a nap (suppresses appetite, not actually a healthy response)

*also peanuts, cereal, protein bar, something with 0 steps of preparation

Food + weed

@typhlosion I try to keep around high protein things and little carbs like crackers or chips always around! Try to keep something you like. The best things to keep are small things you can snack on because it sometimes turns on the "oh I need food!" bit of the brain.

But when things are really bad consider keeping around those meal replacement shake things or bottled smoothie. They're better than nothing, and I find that if I can't physically eat I can still drink things!

I agree with others that weed helps but I don't know if it's a legal option for you

Food + weed

@SpicyNugget fwiw it's legal here but im not interested in it at this time

@typhlosion Woof. I mean...

I won't say it's healthy, but I do keep one of those giant jars of peanut butter in my cupboard and I might just take a spoonful of that. On toast, if I have some bread.

But I guess there's a difference between "I don't feel like preparing something" and "I don't feel like eating", the second one is a harder nut to crack.

@typhlosion if it's just like, one meal, we keep protein bars around for exactly this purpose

@typhlosion I have a stockpile of those meal-in-a-bottle thingies, they're called yfood, basically soylent but by people who know how to produce food
