OK- I've cleared all the hurdles getting in the way of doing this so it's time to make the announcement.

Friends, we're adding a new goal to the awoo.space Patreon- if we hit $150 we're planning on upgrading the servers to the next highest tier on Scaleway!

Unfortunately we lost a fair amount of pledge money so that means we've fallen under our goal for double commissions which means we probably won't see 2 commissions next month unless we recover, but upgrading our servers is a big goal I know how to do now and I hope we can get to at some point!

The new goal works like this:

1. We hit $150 and the payment goes through at the beginning of the month
2. We pull out the amount of money required to pay for the medium size server (currently, €11.99, which is about 14.17 US$) until we hit the $150 mark (fee adjusted)
3. The rest of the money (with fee removed) goes to our other staff members

If it's confusing why it works that way, don't forget that the reason it works this way is that the #1 goal of our Patreon has always been to support our staff members who do not have stable employment or want to be paid for their work!

Last month we paid @kyra and @thefishcrow for their work on the site. Don't forget that they too have Patreons you can support directly!

@vahnj I don't follow what you mean by "until we hit the $150 mark"

@Felthry Say we get $160 from the Patreon-

This means that we have $10 for the server, as the remaining $150 is reserved for staff. This does not account for the fee, which I'll be calculating as a percentage of the income once we know the amount
