The drains in our increasingly decrepit apartment have backed up. Apparently the unusually loud "rain" I heard last night was a torrent of water coming down through our bathroom ceiling.
Peg and I are gonna take all this wastewater and make wastewaterade. :p We decided, fuck it, we're staying at the hotel down the street until this gets repaired, and we're staying in the motherfucking jacuzzi suite.
This is not responsible nor a good idea, and I'm secretly very glad Peggy opted for it. =^__^;=
@001zlnv He's... all right. The whole place is falling apart, but at least he kinda-sorta communicates with us and doesn't just let stuff rot indefinitely.
We're almost hoping the damage is bad enough that they'll have to strip everything down and rebuild. If that happens, we're probably just gonna ask to get out of our lease and bolt for NOLA that much sooner...
Ah! In that case I hope it is a ruin that will take months for them to fix 😋
@001zlnv Yes he is, it sounds like, and you have my total sympathies. We actually have a plumber having a look at it already-- sounds like you've basically been told to sit and spin, which makes me quite angry on your behalf. -____-
Pretty much, but assuming tomorrow goes well, the time when I need to care about him will be coming to an end.
Then I will have a whole new landlord to be annoyed by 🐍
@zebratron2084 You know you can go to jacuzzis without having your home destroyed...
(Also, urgh, sorry hon.)
@Aradia Yeah, we were originally gonna do this jacuzzi suite to get away from B*nd*z*, but decided to be responsible and cancel.
So it's all effectively free! ^___^ (Have I ever explained the Alice Trillin Law of Compensatory Cash Flow to you? It's so handy...)
@zebratron2084 gross, get ‘em to comp you for the apartment stuff and any water damage your books incur while soaking in the tub.
@Leucrotta Thankfully it's not quite that bad! The bathroom floor was soaked completely, with obvious cracks in the ceiling, but the rest of the apartment was fine except for some wet spots we think was from ground water. No property damage so far, except for one pretty gross bathmat!
Believe me, if we'd lost books, I'd be calling for blood. :D Still hoping we won't come home to Waterworld in a couple days, but so far it's more annoying than catastrophic!
@zebratron2084 I’d meant reading in the hot tub, but I’m glad it’s kinda less mess than feared!
@Leucrotta I was kinda confused why you thought our books were in the tub, come to think of it... :>
@zebratron2084
This is unfortunately similar to what has forced me from my apartment. I hope your landlord is more competent than mine.
