Checked Firefox and as expected, 100% of the extensions I use- the only reason I use it- are "legacy" and likely won't be updated. Guess I won't be upgrading for a while if ever..

@indi @nire@witches.town fairly sure the locals do 100% checks, at least they have every time I've seen it. (of course that means if you see them not doing that it's suspicious and a good reason to ask, perhaps!)

So it turns out that blocking federation also extends to reply chains, at least on my client. So if you go into a thread and see missing posts that could get why- someone on a non federated instance you aren't following is making them.
