At some point I feel like we gotta adress that Adobe, the largest seller of art creation software, doesn't actually MAKE any software.
Like, they have some really great tools and they just sit on them because they bought nearly their entire library from other companies, just as a means for more income, they don't know how to work on the code.
One of my favourite factoids is that Tyrannosaurus Rex lived closer in time to the present day than they did to Stegosaurus.
It's generally thought that T. Rex lived 68-66 million years ago, while Stegosaurus dates to 155-145 mya.
The dinosaurs were around for a really freaking long time, even if you don't count modern birds.

'80s composers kill me cause they're always just like "Oh, you need an end credits song for your kids cartoon about zany raccoons playing in the forest? Okay, bet. I'mma go way too hard on it for literally no reason."

I'm from the era of the internet before real name policies, when we called ourselves something silly on some godforsaken website when we where 15 and now have more of an affinity for that than whatever nonsense is printed on our ID card.
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

One Does Not Simply Move Into Seattle - A Thread on Escaping Here
So Seattle seems great compared to whatever you're dealing with in your neck of the country. Queer friendly, protections for bodily autonomy. You've heard its expensive but you'll make do, right?
Unfortunately I've run into multiple situations in which folks coming to Seattle have ended up sleeping rough. That's not great. The cops will take your stuff and run your camp off its land if enough Karens get tired of not helping you. I've decided to write a general guide on preparing yourself before you come here.
==========
1. Consider your needs
Before beginning your apartment hunt, consider:
- How many bedrooms will you need to house everybody in your group
- How much can you afford monthly for rent and pay for all the other things you'll need like utilities, internet, groceries, etc.
- Where will you need to commute to do your work
- Do you need in-unit/on-site laundry or can you take your clothes to a laundromat
- If you have a car, parking in a garage or on-site will cost extra (like $100/mo minimum)
- When must you move in
Not sure folk are aware that using Google fonts by URL in their CSS undermines the privacy of each and every site visitor, sending their IP to GG with every visit. How? Because with each visit they download the font from GG, not your server.
If you will use GG fonts, don't do this
@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=FontName[...]
Download that font, and resource it locally instead
@font-face {
font-family: FontName';
font-style: normal;
src: url('../fonts/FontName.woff2');
[...]
}
CW: Bio, health, teeth, anxiety, Seattle area request for help, (redrafted)
I have anxiety about my teeth. when I'm really high, i can imagine my mouth is dying. it sucks. I have anxiety about dentist. They are all experts in guilt, no matter how gentle they try to be, and every visit is just excruciating.
I still need recs for one, though. I need a lot of work. Preferably one with the good machines and surgeons and the Good drugs. femme dentist preferred. Queer friendly preferred
Thanks,

@Austin_Dern That depends on how you feel about case sensitivity.
@Austin_Dern I still capitalize Internet.
@packbat A big part of why I can't stand using standalone web-browser-that-only-goes-to-one-site clients is that all the browser plugins and other tools I have to overcome that sort of UI thoughtlessness are unavailable. Sorry that has bit ya!
