i don't think humans should colonize Mars. at all. there's no magnetosphere, which means the entire planet is a big orange cancer buffet. unless you want to crouch like moles, trapped in lead-lined underground habitats for your stay, the first and most of the second generation of Mars colonists will die. horribly. if you go to Mars for longer than it takes to rescue Matt Damon, you will die there.

Heads-up: there are reports of a salmonellosis epidemic in King, Kitsap, Skagit, Snohomish, and Thurston counties and the recommendation is to take down bird feeders, as these can heavily increase the spread of the disease:

#drawings from today were mecha, sci-fantasy characters, and something that happened in a recent #DnD session; there really was a mechanical purple worm, the gnome wizard really did cast Sphere of Invulnerability on himself before jamming himself in its maw, and the barbarian really did whale on it while the rogue tried to figure out how to disable the mechanism.
