Silver oxide batteries are nice.
@Felthry You're nice.
Are you a silver oxide battery?
@BatElite no but I use things powered by them so maybe it rubs off!
- Favorite package?
- Most annoying chemistry?
- Common brand to avoid?
- Opinion on the mil for PCB traces?
@zetasyanthis
- TO-247 for power stuff, SOIC otherwise. Honorable mention goes to SOT-23, which is just pleasantly shaped.
- Anything lithium-polymer
- I tend to avoid maxim, though not really for any good reason other than their insistence on making their own package standards (the μMAX is just SOIC with the dimensions tweaked by fractions of a mil, for example)
- As thick as you can get away with. We're a power engineer, remember! We just put together a 4oz board, even. Yes, four.
@Felthry SOIC is love; SOIC is life
@Felthry Surely the first and third items are things electrical engineers develop opinions on?
@BatElite Probably! But most seem not to feel as strongly about them as I do.
@Motodrachen I don't think we've ever used anything from them. What do they make?
@Motodrachen ...what. okay, not going to use things from them then
