Kirby Air Ride
Shogo Sakai, Jun Ishikawa, Hirokazu Ando, Tadashi Ikegami
Kirby Air Ride is one of those oft-forgotten gems in video gaming. It's simple, fun, cute, and just all-around appealing.
I like the mood of this piece. It's like a complete adventure in musical form. There's also a fun part at the beginning where the oboes play a bar, the flutes answer, the clarinets answer that, and then brass comes in with a fanfare.
@Felthry About the only way this track could get better is if the oboes and flutes reversed position each time the call-and-response came up, like two racers swapping the lead in a tense race. Even without that, it works really well!
I never did get to play this game, but it seemed like a fun concept. Thanks for reminding me of it!
@ElectricKeet @Felthry I was gonna say earlier, if anyone would be able to hunt down who was the actual composer on this, it'd be Keet. :-D
@ElectricKeet Ooh, that is a good concept. I wonder if anyone's ever done something like that before! I suppose they probably have.
I find it mildly annoying when the only information I can find about a piece's composer is a list of everyone who worked on the soundtrack. That means I might be listing people who had nothing to do with this particular piece, and I'm just using up characters from my very small character limit.
