OH OKAY THIS IS REALLY COUNTERINTUITIVE
when a post gets auto-hidden there's no indication of it at all and it just shows the first line of it until you click on it
so for example I was very confused by @Lioness 's post https://mastodon.social/@Lioness/99157004218088394 here because it just said "been thinking about the role of - meta-"

@Felthry @vahnj There's a new thing on the far right bar called 'app settings' in which you can turn off the auto-collapsing entirely, or just for certain things like notifications. :-}
