@noiob we actually didn't know bananas were berries!
-F

@noiob Berries in general seem very prone to staining stuff compared to other fruits

you can get stains from blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, even watermelons stain pretty easily (watermelons are technically berries), but you never see apple or orange stains
-F

@noiob I would not be surprised if we've never had that then, yes! Do you know if they taste much different?
-F

@noiob key limes have a really thin rind as citrus goes, so that makes sense
-F

@noiob would make sense, citrus tends to like that kind of climate
-F

@noiob probably. come to think of it, i don't know if we've seen them since moving here to the northwest, maybe they're just common in the south
-F

@noiob huh... i know we've seen a lot of things sold as key limes at least. they might not be true key limes
-F

@noiob kinda makes me wonder what kind of things are ubiquitous in europe and completely unknown here
-F

@noiob yeah and that feels weird to us! because they've been in the produce section of every grocery store we've ever been to

of course I understand that they don't grow them over there and there's not enough demand to import lots of them but it still feels weird on some instinctual level because we're so used to them being just a thing you can buy at any old grocery store
-F

it just feels kind of weird, realizing that something you consider a real universally available and known Thing is in fact unavailable and unknown in most of the world

we keep learning about things, usually foods, that are so common here but are completely unheard-of in other parts of the world

like apparently a key lime pie just isn't a thing in europe
-F

@SwooshyCueb sounds like stuff that goes completely over our heads! but congrats on the conferencing
-F

fiducial sounds almost like a pasta

fiducialli or something
-F

@astra aaa well i hope you continue to be at least sorta okay
-F

really just not looking forward to going to work tomorrow
-F

@kobi_lacroix On december 31, 1999, every bed became a time bed

this is the true nature of the y2k bug
-F

@mawr This is why we currently have two entire bottles of rubbing alcohol, two boxes of bandages, and two mostly-full bottles of mustard

when you need a thing that you already have but forget you have it and go buy another one, only to later find where the one you already had was hiding
