a rule of thumb we've seen pretty often is, if you have to ask "is this a scam", the answer is yes

we've never seen a counterexample to that

today we learned: final fantasy X has 68 distinct, independent RNGs used for different things, and that is presumably why it's taken so long for people to figure out rng manipulation for it
