@bj Is the system set up so that you could write a fraction like 15/16 without it looking weird?
-F

@terrana It's in the southwest of Hyrule. Not the northwest or east because hyrule has no concept of consistency. (and that's probably a good thing)
-F

the Hearth :ms_agender_flag: boosted

since it seems it is not, in fact, one of those things that everyone knows, just for anyone curious the answer is ↑,←,↓,←

we always remember it as just going left and alternating up and down between lefts, since there's no penalty for a wrong direction other than having to start over that always gets it done within 7 screen transitions, and we forget where it starts a lot

@socks Huh! That's something we've never heard of before. I don't think it happens in any english-speaking places
-F

@socks At least in our experience, having multiple last names is a very unusual thing--the closest we know of would be people combining their last names when they get married instead of picking one (like instead of being either Smith or Jones, combine them to Smith-Jones)

re: Species dysphoria

@sharkNserg *hugs on offer*
-F

@sharkNserg definitely understand though, we like the game despite its crypticness not because of it
-F

@sharkNserg i mean, that in particular *is* one of the things that the game tells you outright in a non-cryptic manner at least
-F

final fantasy 6 spoilers

@socks i mean the twist in the plot is literally just that kefka is the big bad guy, not gestahl, and i guarantee you that more people who haven't played ffvi (probably more people who *have*) would recognise the name kefka as being from ffvi than gestahl
-F

@socks the other examples i was thinking of were the fact that you can get meat out of the walls in castlevania, and the plot twists of final fantasies 6 and 7
-F

@socks like there are plenty of things in video games that even people who haven't played the game know, i'm wondering if this is one of them
-F

@socks i don't know, we have a bad habit of assuming things we know and have known for a very long time are just things that everyone knows, so i'm asking to check that
-F

is it the case that everyone knows the way to get through the lost woods forest of maze in zelda 1 or is that just us

it feels like one of those things everyone knows by heart
-F

@trysdyn Points for the recruiter actually knowing what XMPP is, but I would think the kind of people who are on xmpp in 2022 are also the kind of people who would not be particularly good targets for spam?
-F

where exactly did "governor" as a form of casual address for non-gubernatorial strangers come from anyway
-F

re: video games

@sharkNserg one of these days maybe we'll get a ps4 but it will not be today

there are a couple exclusive games on it we'd like to play
-F

it's a little weird (not in a bad way) to see a ton of people talking about how much they love this thing that we're just, completely 100% neutral on
-F

@JulieSqveakaroo if the day's been stressful, fixating on a minor problem can be a coping mechanism
-F

video games

i kinda want to play bloodborne sometime

did that ever come out on anything other than ps4 because we don't have one of those
