@douglasfur thank you for all the suggestions by the way!
-F

@douglasfur looks worth a look at some point, but not right now--when i said not feeling 3d i meant more the era/style of game, looking for something kinda the same style as suikoden, wild arms, or live a live (or indeed the pre-7 final fantasies and dragon quests)

poking at bahamut lagoon now i think, remembered we've been meaning to play that for a while

any other suggestions are welcome though! you seeem to have good taste if your first suggestions were suikoden and wild arms
-F

@douglasfur also played those i'm afraid! they're really good, though 2 could have used a better translation
-F

@douglasfur well there's one we haven't heard of, gonna look into it!
-F

@douglasfur already played (and a huge fan of) the first two games, not up to trying the third at the moment

thanks for the suggestion though! it's a good one
-F

@kobi_lacroix "Oh good, I've been trying for ages!"
-F

does anyone have any suggestions for a hidden-gem sort of jrpg we could play now that we finished live a live? not feeling like anything 3d
-F

what exactly defines a "simulator game" anyway
-F

so, is futurama the opposite of pastrami?
-F

one of these days we'll play chrono cross but i'm not feeling 3d right now

now that we've finished live a live, we need another hidden gem of an old jrpg to play but i don't know where to look
-F

@KinkyTurtle the bird in dark souls appears to be a golden eagle though, not a crow

there *is* a giant crow in dark souls 1 though, and a second invisible crow chick that you can trade items to
-F

@trysdyn oh, we'd seen demon's souls called a "spiritual successor" to king's field, so i thought it'd be similar
-F

question: is the king's field series actually worth playing, or does it not stack up to the modern souls series?
-F

@xenon you'd think it'd be something someone would have made in the late 2000s or early 2010s or something, maybe even earlier
-F

@xenon which you'd need headphones with an additional direction sensor in them, like a compass or something
-F

@xenon even without moving around the space, i'm thinking being able to turn your head and it'd change what's on the left vs right
-F

has anyone ever made headphones that change the mixing of channels as you turn your head, to make it actually feel like you're in a place without needing surround sound speakers? i feel like that would be something someone has done before
