re: Xenoblade chronicles 3, massive spoilers with some details now

@Zest showing the heroes fail is, not something you see that often, not with something like that

other games have had main characters die, but having a main character die *and showing the other characters frustrated at their inability to do anything* is just, really powerful

like, the way noah really wants to do something, and the others are telling him to do something, but he just straight-up can't, recognising that even trying is likely to get the rest of them killed too

it's a really emotionally powerful moment and i think one of the highlights of the game

re: Xenoblade chronicles 3, massive spoilers with some details now

@Zest the way noah wanted to do something, was being urged by others to do something, but just... couldn't

was pretty powerful

re: Xenoblade chronicles 3, massive spoilers

@Zest Ahh, yeah, that's a Big Moment

re: Xenoblade chronicles 3

@Zest We've finished the game and don't remember the chapter boundaries; what was it that happens at the end of chapter 5?

re: antiblackness fediblock meta (4/6)

@packbat i would say the unfortunate naming here is the linux distribution, not the african philosophy
-F

@Siph i mean, i'm asking if you know about the cooking technique, not just if you know what the French means!

re: pokésona idea

@LexYeen I would extrapolate the latter occupation to sex work in general, and that tends to involve caring about your appearance, so I think they might practice faces!
-F/R?

re: pokésona idea

@LexYeen The ditto face isn't because they can't make a good face, it's because they don't bother
-F

@sharkNserg my thought process on seeing this boosted: "Oh Connie would like this" "wait they're the one who boosted it"

re: after looking it up

@mycroft@paws.town oh no it's something you absolutely need the right tools for (particularly vacuum-sealing the food, that's uh. kinda hard to do without a vacuum sealer)

the temperature control is also usually done with a relatively cheap recirculating heater (they make them specifically for sous vide cooking), then just put all the food in a big vat with the recirculator set to the right temperature and leave it for a few hours

re: my guess without looking it up

@mycroft@paws.town see awoo.space/@Felthry/1088135068 and further posts for a full explanation of as much of it as we understand (which is theoretically enough to cook something that way, but we've never done it)

re: pokésona idea

@LexYeen We love character/sona designs that emphasize self-determination 💚 💙

re: pokésona idea

@LexYeen (also because poochyena/mightyena are underrated and Very Good)

re: pokésona idea

@LexYeen oh i *love* this idea and would enjoy hearing further thoughts on it!
-F

@LexYeen Well, if it's *that* awful, we probably still don't want to know the answer!
-F

@LexYeen This is a post that makes me wonder things that i probably don't want to know the answer to
-F

@relee Our understanding is that most things you buy that are fully-cooked or par-cooked were prepared sous vide! it's a process that's pretty amenable to large-scale industrial cooking
