we have two framed pictures on our wall that are prints of card game card art, one from magic (i think it was called something like "filigree familiar"?) and one that @ziphi@/tailswish.industries made for a pokemon card art contest (an extremely pretty picture of an arcanine in ecruteak that unfairly did not win the contest)

they're incredibly cheap, because they're very basic components that are mass-produced by the billion

the resistors you can get 5000 for $36.45 on digikey right now (or 250 for $4.32)

the diodes are slightly more expensive but you can still get 100 for $4.09

they're just. cheap little things that look pretty

and most of them are lead-free nowadays so they're safe to use for jewelry too (this would have been a concern in the 90s)
