@rey it'd be really overkill but twinax cable would work too, as long as you only need two conductors
-F
@rey oh you could probably also use ordinary STP cable like good quality cat6 or cat5e cable, and Lapp's Ölflex cable has some good shielded options
-F
@rey look into VFD cable! i don't know if it comes in small gauges but if it does it'd be a good way to avoid transmitting much (it's meant to solve this exact problem with large motor drives, which are extremely noisy because you don't filter any high-frequency stuff out, it's way easier to just use the motor windings as a filter and the motor doesn't care)
-F
also they only come in n-channel but good luck finding a p-channel jfet that can handle that kind of voltage anyway, they don't make p-channel SiC devices

re: Being upset with content creators who put questions in their video titles and then drag out the answer as long as possible
@ziphi because the youtube algorithm heavily favors videos that are at least 10 minutes long

re: Seattle Local: don't buy Starbucks tomorrow!
@mawr huh?
-F
this means that trying to simulate a silicon carbide fet or even a bog-standard silicon igbt is near impossible unless you make your own model (which takes a lot of time and care) because all the models have convergence problems
-F
not in terms of accuracy but in terms of simulability, they always seem to have discontinuities in at least the first derivative if not the i-v relationship itself, tons of b sources with conditionals and nonsense like taht

re: gods, theism, selfhood of god, thinking way too hard about things
@Taylor I'd wonder if there even would be any meaningful distinction between such a being and their creation
-F
randomly thinking about possibly the best post we've written: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/543921/why-are-multimeter-batteries-awkward-to-replace/543935#543935
multimeter safety engineering is quite a thing
-F
@rey we've been in a wafer fab before and it's full of very clean and safe-looking machines full of the most terrifying substances you can imagine
-F
@rey only the sparks are really that unusual an occurrence in wafer fabs, honestly
-F
@Edelwood i'm... glad to see you seem to be genuinely apologetic here
i don't think i'm personally ready to refollow yet but it looks like you're trying and that's a good thing
i hope you can get better, for your own sake as much as anyone else's
