major botw dlc spoilers (yes really)

@Nine @pup_hime it's implied that bananas were a Big Deal in shiekah society before the yiga split from the rest of them, and the yiga maintained this fanaticism through the centuries while the non-yiga shiekah gradually lost it

the main evidence for this is the maz koshia boss fight, where you can throw out a banana to distract him just like you can any of the yiga. since maz koshia is one of the ancient shiekah from 10,000 years ago, that would imply that banana-loving was already entrenched in shiekah society at the time

@pup_hime sorry, what's ginseng imp fact? autocorrect?
-F

@dodec @packbat oh, I see now! It really barely feels like a transition; it's not getting faster or slower, it's just changing the rhythm

pretty hard to notice, even though it is at a pretty abrupt section transition melody-wise
-F

so, what time signature is c64 tetris even in?

we listened to it and realized parts of it sound clearly 4/4 while other parts sound clearly 10/8 but there's nowhere that it seems like it actually changes time signatures

-R

is it a polyrhythm?? -F

happy taursday, the day for being taurs
-F

@socks the second one sounds like pokemon battle music

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz more games should be like paper mario: only a couple of stats and they all do very simple things
-F

@rey Hmm. Potatoes, I suppose! Tomatoes are arguably not a vegetable
-F

@rey what vegetables are there that *aren't* either brassica, allium, or some kind of turnipesque thing

bamboo shoots??
-F

@rey and i don't know the species names but most of the rest of them are varieties of onion or turnip
-F

@rey i will never not be impressed by how many different vegetables are all brassica oleracea
-F

@rey you got the right species at least

collard greens and kale are both brassica oleracea
-F

@rey collard greens are one of those things that we have just never understood why they exist

does anyone like them?
-F

multibody and/or identity-play thought, worldbuilding

a world where there are only finitely many possible (consciousnesses / identities), but population growth has outstripped the supply of (consciousnesses / identities), so some (bodies / people) have to share, ending up with (many people having multiple bodies / multiple instances of the same people)

re: food confession

@sharkNserg @niss He does a lot of videos about this sort of thing, has he done one on whether bay leaves actually do anything?
