my awoo account is currently open on both of our computers, the laptop and the desktop across the room. This means that every notification we get, the sound comes from both sets of speakers. It's an interesting effect.

you know what's really nice? sincerity. im tired of being in other places and having everything anyone says be couched behind a brand or a veil of ironic joking. i really appreciate that about mastodon's culture - the capacity for people here to just be sincere with each other. i hope the new folks can feel that as well

We've been curious about this for a very long time and never seen a good answer:
Why do some people capitalize every word they type? We see it _all the time_ and I'm wondering if it's a case of people not familiar with the Latin alphabet (or just alphabetic writing in general) misunderstanding some rule?

Well, we'd been wondering for weeks what was causing our laptop's fan to whir so loudly (that's a lot of w words!)... finally sprayed an aerosol duster in the fan vent and a huge amount of extremely fine dust that looked almost like smoke came out. No wonder it was struggling!
Note: It only looked like smoke. It did not have the characteristic smell of magic smoke.
