A question I was just thinking about:

What video games would you choose if asked to make a list of classics?

I'm not asking for your favorite games--I'm asking, what would you call a classic in the same vein as the classics of literature or film; a game that every well-read (or "well-played"?) person should be expected to have at least passing familiarity with? (assume for the purposes of this that video games are generally considered a worthy form of art (they are, but not everyone agrees))

the way the previously highly successful RCA failed is kind of fascinating

they were just _extremely_ fixated on bringing this _extremely_ flawed video-on-vinyl format to market that it drove them to bankruptcy and no one knows that CEDs ever existed

video game music is one of my biggest interests and I want to both share this with people and just do my own analysis on it sometimes but I don't know if it's actually getting shared with people because it just feels like i never get favorites or replies to it and I know I shouldn't focus on that but it's like... I feel like I want validation? that this is an okay thing to feel so strongly about and that other people share in my enthusiasm?

sometimes I wonder, do people like seeing my intermittent VGM selection posts? I like doing them and probably won't stop but they always get very little interaction

okay so self-driving cars are neat and all but hear me out: what if, instead of all that effort making an expensive car that drives itself, just hire people to drive cars for you

you can make them really big cars that fit a lot of people too, and that way you need fewer cars on the street which means less traffic and less pollution

I hate that people will take advantage of others like this. the victims don't even realize that they're being taken advantage of, because they're convinced that it's the medical/scientific/whatever community at large taking advantage of them, and they can be enlightened to the secret truth or whatever nonsense they choose to use

it's like cult rhetoric or something

I really detest people who take advantage of the gullible and desperate by making some kind of sciencey-sounding nonsense and selling it to people for $ridiculous

now I see someone asking on stackexchange basically for the best way to electrocute themself because some snake oil salesperson claims that it's good for you or something--and they're extremely convinced that it works because they've "used it already with impressive results"
