learned today that there was a tenth-century german duke who was utterly _hated_ by the people for how he just appropriated church resources for himself and guess what epithet he got? the Terrible? the Church-thief? no, he's called Arnulf the Bad.

why yes thank you this is useful information and tells me where the package is

splatoon calls it ink but everything we've seen of it suggests that it's really more of a paint

*opens mouths, termina field music plays*

I'm not even sure if this is funny or if it's actually deep

apparently google translate now has a "how satisfied were you with your google translate experience" popup and uh. what

Language is just telepathy with an intermediate step.

I make symbols on a screen, you read symbols on a screen, and suddenly my thoughts are in your thoughts.

I make sounds, you hear sounds, and suddenly my thoughts are in your thoughts.

re: Multi thoughts

Most of the things I'm into I like because of how they expand possibilities. Multiple arms to allow you to do more things at once, multiple heads to let you look in several directions at once--and that comes with multiple brains to let you process multiple things at once. Modularity to let you change things out for different things, or just free your heads from their prison atop your necks.

Multi thoughts

I like to think that with four ears, each pair would have a different tuning to extend the audible range. Maybe a larger pair of ears that can hear 10~10000 Hz sounds, and a slightly smaller pair in front that can hear 40~40000 Hz sounds.

Likewise, multiple specialized sets of eyes can be neat as well. A pair of eyes that sees between 800~450nm in conjunction with a pair that can see between 650~300nm, for instance.

However little sense that makes biologically.

huh. there's apparently a switch release of baldur's gate, neverwinter nights, and planescape:torment

you're all good people and I care about you a lot, I hope you know that

this is directed at pretty much everyone I follow and especially those I talk to, you're all good

thought after someone used the phrase: what is the etymology of dope as in "this outfit is dope as hell"

okay so we learned what "tech" means in the context of smash and why did we never know this was a thing you can do, that should be in a tutorial or something

it means hitting the shield button right before hitting the floor or a wall after you've been hit, and it completely cancels the stunned-on-the-floor animation that leaves you vulnerable

thoughts on cis people trying to wrap their heads around what it's like to be trans

I think cis people trying to understand being trans get it wrong a lot. A cis man who thinks "what if I wanted to be a girl" is looking at it from the wrong direction; they should think instead "I'm a guy, but what if everyone else insisted I was a girl?" (and of course vice versa for a cis woman)

I think that would help them understand better how trans people are discriminated against and just what being trans is like in general

plural stuff

having plushies to represent your headmates is just so _good_ we'd never considered it could be this nice

*dragon noises, despite not being a dragon*

okay so I've gotten into watching smash videos and is there a good overview of all the terminology here somewhere because I don't know what these words they keep saying mean

what does it mean that you get "put into the state of a failed tech", what's DI mean, what are these words

weird, relates to one of my worldbuilding things

A singular person dating an Akʔana family would be cute in an awkward sort of way
