the situation in question was a random death when attempting to enter the castle; the cause is that a bit of floor collision got deleted or moved by the corruption just outside the door, but mario could still get close enough to the door to trigger the door opening animation, but said animation puts him over the missing floor, which causes death since it's out of bounds
