i've noticed that the judge in the ace attorney series makes reference to having a "grandchild" multiple times, but never a "grandson" or "granddaughter"

the logical conclusion is that the judge's grandkid is nonbinary, and the judge is supportive of their identity

apollo justice ace attorney (no spoilers)

just got to episode 4 and what the actual fuck

this is going to be a good one isn't it

mention of fictional murders

why does it seem like every case in the ace attorney series is a murder case? how frequently do murders happen in wherever-phoenix-lives that one specific defense attorney gets something like twelve murder cases in under two years

why can't there be a theft or destruction-of-property case or something

i wonder if you call those "hints and tips" phone numbers that games in the 00s had printed on the instructions, do any of them still work

bleh, stressy

classes and stuff start wednesday and we are just. aaaa

you ever just completely forget that eating food is necessary

there are people we peripherally know but think are neat and would like to know better, but despite almost never interacting with them every time we do we get super stressed over what-if-that-was-the-wrong-thing-to-say

@dogfluid@snouts.online also welcome to the fediverse, good to see you here! we've seen a lot of your art in the past and it's all very good, was wondering when you'd join over here

unrelatedly, we understand *why* they did it of course but the use of "raccoon pouch" in the dub of Pom Poko is really silly. clearly they couldn't release it with its intended rating if they didn't censor it somehow, but really!

and just calling them raccoons instead of tanuki, which I can only assume is because a lot of people in the west don't know what tanuki are (a situation that really should be rectified because they're *adorable*)

I know we at least want to have

- My Neighbor Totoro
- Castle in the Sky
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Pom Poko
- Spirited Away
- Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
- Princess Mononoke
- Kiki's Delivery Service

Not sure if the others interest us that much, though we may have missed some, these are just the ones we can think of

Show thread

i feel like we should try to get copies of all the Ghibli movies, really

we don't own any of them at our apartment and they would be nice to have a collection

Show thread

oh yeah we also got a chance to watch Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind over the holidays too! we took our brother to a used game+movie store to let him pick a gift and found a copy of it while we were there (as well as Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Princess Mononoke! of course we ended up getting all of them, but they stayed at the family's house)

we can definitely see why people praise that movie so much. it was outstanding.

the entirety of Fawful's character and dialog is a runner-up though

Show thread

possibly my favorite thing in all of video games is the way that there's *really dark* lore to the Kirby universe, but you see almost none of it because you play as a small child who does not know what's going on and just wants to eat food and make friends

We got into the Ace Attorney series over the holidays and I just have one thing to say about its setting:

Their legal system has never even been in the same room as anyone who's heard of the concept of "conflict of interest"
