Fact is this ends 4 years of helplessness and hopelessness when that work could not be done.
The gate is open. The path is clear. But don't think you have to kill yourself running headlong down it without taking a break to enjoy the breath of fresh air.

due to a mistake in the program Alaric wrote to test diode breakdown voltages, a test device ended up held in breakdown for ten seconds, with its current-limiting resistor only limiting it to 50 watts, way too much for a tiny TO-220
Somehow, despite the fact that the tin plating melted and the heatsink mounting tab now has a mirror finish, indicating that it must have gotten to at least a temperature of 232°C, with the junction temperature even higher, it seems to still work perfectly fine

Asking for help, money, pls boost
We've received some help from very generous folks but we're not out of the woods.
The OK ice storm left us without power for over a week now, ripping our meter off of the house. The electrician quoted us $8175. We've found cheaper now but cheaper is relative. We're still scared and in the dark here, and can't stream til we have electric. Help a poor queer family if you can.
