I'm not going to be very active here for a few weeks while I'm visiting family.
Some positive news, though: I came out to my mom as agender yesterday. She didn't seem to really understand, but she was supportive and didn't think it was a bad thing or anything.
It was a stressful experience, even so.

why is it that aluminum electrolytic capacitors are marked on the negative side, while tantalum electrolytic capacitors are marked on the positive side? That just seems like a recipe for disaster to me (those tantalum ones tend to catch fire, and aluminum ones pressurize and explode, when you connect them the wrong way)

when a post gets auto-hidden there's no indication of it at all and it just shows the first line of it until you click on it
so for example I was very confused by @Lioness 's post https://mastodon.social/@Lioness/99157004218088394 here because it just said "been thinking about the role of - meta-"
